Rummlegairie of Trailtrow (45/91)
Born 1989, grey dun, 137.80 cms.
Rummlegairie of Trailtrow is a homebred stallion, born in April 1989. Rummlegairie was a Highland Pony Society assessed colt - one of only two colts to pass the inaugural assessment in 1991 (unanimously passed by five assessors).
He is a compact pony with true pony characteristics and a quality head. He has straight, free action and an exceptionally good natured and gentle temperament.
He has been used at stud since 1991. He covers mares in hand or running out but due to other commitments out with our Highland Pony Stud, he is only available to a very few visiting mares each year. Visiting mares are subject to certain conditions regarding the well-being of themselves and our own ponies.
Rummlegairie, Garry for short, has produced quality young stock which are now being aimed at ridden and breeding careers.
His own ridden career started successfully in 1997 and he won many championships in the first two years. Amongst these wins were (1997): NPS Scottish Show (Spring). PUK Spring Show. BSPS Scottish Show, NPS Malvern, Malvern Highland Pony Show, Scottish Farmer Highland Pony Championships at Blair Castle; (1998): NPS Scottish Show, Northern Horse Show, Royal Highland Show, Eskdale Agricultural Show and he was on Olympia finalist in 1998.

After a few years break, Kirstin competed with him in performance classes in 2003. This culminated in him being HPS Performance Champion for the year. He also won trophies for the best WHP, best Stallion, best junior, best newcomer and a bronze HPS medal.
Rummlegairie concentrated on Working Hunter Pony Classes and Pony Club events. He was a member of the Dumfriesshire Hunt Pony Club Dressage Team which qualified for the finals in Cheshire. There he caused quite a stir as one of the few Native ponies and certainly the hairiest! |
